What is a cookie?

A cookie is a digital file that is downloaded to the user’s device when accessing certain web pages in order to store and retrieve information about web browsing done from that computer, even if the user’s location or IP address changes.

Cookies are installed while browsing the Internet, either by the websites visited by the user or by third-parties with which the website is related, and allow the Page Owner to be aware of your activity on the same site or others with which it is related, for example: the place from which you access, the connection time, the device from which you access (fixed or mobile), the operating system and browser used, the most visited pages, the number of clicks made and data regarding the user’s behaviour on the Internet.

The user can configure their browser not to accept the use of cookies and the website will continue to be accessible without them, although deactivating them may prevent the website from functioning correctly.

Types of cookies and how they work

Cookies, depending on their permanence, can be divided into session or permanent cookies. The former expire when the User closes the browser. The latter expire when the purpose for which they are used is fulfilled (for example, when the User remains identified on the ATI Consult website) or when they are manually deleted.

This website uses cookies to facilitate browsing and to obtain greater efficiency and personalisation of the services offered to users.

Users browsing the website may come across cookies inserted directly by the Owner, or cookies inserted by third parties, as detailed in the following sections.

Necessary cookies inserted by the website owner

The Owner uses technical cookies that are necessary to facilitate proper navigation on the website, as well as to ensure that the content there is loaded efficiently.

This type of cookie remembers your preferences for the tools found in the Website Services, so you do not have to reconfigure the service each time you visit the Website (for example, the number of items to display in a list, the theme or colour chosen for the Website, etc.).

These cookies are also session cookies, i.e. they are temporary, expire and are automatically deleted when the user closes their browser.

Third-party cookies

Entities other than the Owner that use cookies on the website, as well as their purposes, are listed below:

  • Social media cookies:
the Owner uses YouTube cookies in order to improve the user’s experience when playing videos or content uploaded onto the website.

Likewise, the Owner provides the user with links in order to share web content on different social networks. These third parties may install cookies that are beyond our control.

  • Cookies for traffic measurement:
the Owner uses Google Analytics cookies to collect statistical data on user activity on the website. In this way, they are able to improve the services provided to users.

These cookies make it possible to analyse user traffic by generating an anonymous user ID which is used to count how many times a user visits the website. It also records when the user visited the website for the first and last time, when a session has ended and the origin of the user.

Google Analytics is a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. based in the United States with headquarters at 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California 94043. To provide these services, they use cookies that collect information, including the user’s IP address, which will be transmitted to, processed and stored by Google on the terms set out on the Google.com website. Including the possible transmission of such information to third parties for reasons of legal requirements or where such third parties process the information on Google’s behalf.

  • Cookies for advertising purposes:
Adconion, Google Adsense and Dobleclick download cookies to web users in order to show them advertising content related to their interests, based on users’ previous interactions, visits to the advertiser’s website, IP of origin, etc. In this way, with the data collected from the cookies, the advertisements displayed on the website are served and managed more efficiently.

There are other services or elements on the website that belong to or link to third-party services, for example, widgets. In these cases it is possible that these third parties may store cookies on the customer’s browser and access the data stored in them.
